*talks into the mic* Hi...I'm Becca and I am going to recite a couple of my poems. The first one is called "Unheard"
i’m here to speak on behalf of the unheard society the kids who still write a diary ones who lay awake to gaze at the stars and the ones who have a dream to go far. inspired.
our generation is messed up playing ‘catch’ with the ‘adults’ who sit in front of a screen yet they themselves do not know what they are truly teaching putting up everything they had ‘learnt’ as a child. brainwashed.
to the parents who scold the child with a ‘bad report card’ in a science or math that requires ‘intelligence’ yet this ‘dumb kid’ has unstoppable imagination thriving on poetry, arts, and inspiration, oblivious.
those who get mis-gendered too scared to let out their voice on their own identity because this society judges based on the physical attributes the ones who feel so alone in this screaming crowd. blind.
but for the kid who gets teased cause they wanna go far dreams that are so vivid and in reach getting put down because apparently the future is unknown yet they themselves don’t even know what the hell they wanna become. envy.
this is to the ones who’s perceptions are rare individuals whom are not scared to break away from society’s ‘norms’ even though their life will be a maze of never ending twisting roads just because they are not mimics soul of pure steel with a heart of courage i’m speaking on behalf of my unheard society the people’s who’s fires are still ‘alive’.

Remember at Presley's sleepover, you said you imagined every worst possible thing and wanted to take the risk to date regardless.. *Bites my lip*
